Nobeltec Admiral 7 and VNS 7 Support Discontinuation Notice |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Effective February 27, 2009, Jeppesen Marine will discontinue support for Nobeltec Admiral 7 and
VNS 7 (this includes all previous versions). As has been Jeppesen Marine's support policy, we will
continue to support our current MAX Pro versions, Admiral MAX Pro and VNS MAX Pro, and two
most recent releases (versions 8 and 9). This is not a change to our policy, but rather a late
adjustment to follow our policy. This notice is being issued to assist our customers and dealers with
advanced information.
With an upgrade to our newest release, you’ll have access to the world leader in PC Navigation
electronic charts – C-MAP by Jeppesen MAX Pro cartography.
If you’re an Admiral 7 and VNS 7 customer, contact a Jeppesen Marine Dealer or our Jeppesen
Sales Team to purchase Nobeltec products, C-Map by Jeppesen Cartography, or upgrade to
Nobeltec MAX Pro software.

The updates below (Nobeltec MAX Pro Users) work with Admiral MAX Pro
and VNS MAX Pro software.
Please Note:
Other versions of Nobeltec products cannot be updated by this download, including
beta and pre-release versions. If you have a different version of a Nobeltec product
that needs to be updated, please contact Jeppesen Marine at (800) 946-2877 for the

- Light sectors no longer draw full length range lines when disabled.
- New, more vivid chart colors.
- Sirius Marine Weather now supports cloud height drill-down.
- Improved text rendering when used with shaded relief.

Nobeltec Navigation Software Updates (9.x and below) |

The updates below work with Nobeltec Admiral and Visual Navigation Suite Version
9. This software update will update version 9.0.2050 of Nobeltec Navigation Software
products and later to version 9.3.2240.

|
|
Please Note:
- Other versions of Nobeltec products cannot be updated by this download, including
beta and pre-release versions. If you have a different version of a Nobeltec product
that needs to be updated, please contact Jeppesen Marine at (800) 946-2877 for the
proper update.
- If you have a Nobeltec product Version 9.0.2002, you must first update to Version
9.0.2178 and then proceed to update to Nobeltec Version 9.3.2240.
- Tides & Currents will be updated to Version 3.5 (which includes 2007 Daylight
Saving Change) only if you are currently running Admiral 9, VNS Version 9, or later.
For versions earlier than Admiral or VNS 9.0, users must upgrade to Version 9. Please
contact Jeppesen Marine at (800) 946-2877 for upgrade information.

Please Note: This service pack works on Admiral and VNS 8.1.2002
and higher, but is not intended for Admiral and VNS Version 9 users. It will not
work on versions earlier than Admiral or VNS 8.1.2002; it also does not work on
Admiral or VNS versions 7.x or earlier.
Also, Admiral and VNS Version 9 users DO NOT need to install this Sounder Service
Pack; you should install 9.0.2178 instead.
This service pack has an updated sounder support file (Sounderserver.dll) to support
new InSight Sounder hardware.
